HARRISON TORRIX BARBEL & SPECIALIST ROD BLANKS

Torrix is a more modern feeling blank compared to the chimera , not a huge difference , but has a slightly faster tip action compared to the chimera and a lighter feel and performs the intended task very well . Harrisons newest model blank

HARRISON CHIMERA BARBEL & SPECIALIST ROD BLANKS

Chimera compared to the torrix is slightly more through action which is a pleasure to fight fish with , a tad bit heavier but able to handle a slightly wider range of lead per model , very rugged

    For still waters and rivers, and good for long range big feeder work. A state of the art specialist 1.75lb test curve barbel rod based on the Interceptor but with chimera 3k woven fabric ,Stepped up from the No 1 as the ultimate big fish rod. This will tame double figure fish with reserves of power. It is versatile enough to handle bigger leads in flood water and to hook and hold in snaggy swims, but light enough for all round Use

  • HARRISON CHIMERA no3 12 ft - 2.25 lb

    Flood / Big River This medium fast-action for the big river / flood A noticeable step up in “power” over the No2. For bigger feeders on big rivers like the Thames, Severn, Wye and Trent Capable of casting out 5oz retains a good playing action and great bite detection. Ideal for between 2oz and 5oz leads / feeders with 3oz optimal

The number of Guides for your custom barbel rod can vary from 7-8 ( heavy rods ) upto around 11 ( lightweight Avon style rods)

The butt guide size can vary from size 30 ( heavy flood rod ) to size 20 (on light Avon style rod )

a typical guide set for a 1.75lb 12ft rod is 25 butt to 8 tip

Don't worry to much at this stage as we advise what is best suited for your blank and fishing style , this is to give you an idea of cost differences

You can also pick from all double foot guides or a mixture of double foot ( for first 2 butt guides ) and single foot running guides , both have their advantages and cost differences ( double foot require more time guide wrapping but are stronger . They also add a bit more weight . Single foot guides require less time to wrap and are lighter
